The MSK service is provided by a large clinical team of specialist MSK Physiotherapists, MSK Consultants, and supported by a dedicated team of administrators.

We are part of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Care Partnership, which is a group of organisations working closely together to plan services and to address the challenges facing health and care services across the area.

Patient and Public Involvement

Patient experience and feedback is invaluable to us and helps shape our service. We are always keen for suggestions to help us continually improve our service. This may range from practical arrangements for our clinics, our patient information leaflets and new ideas on how we can improve and deliver our service. We work closely with our patients and public volunteers to achieve this in a range of ways including digital and traditional feedback methods. If you would like to get involved please contact us on 01937 522864 or leedsmsk.helpline@nhs.net. MSK Research

The MSK service is proud of its ongoing commitment to clinical research and education to support high quality care for our patients.

We provide opportunities for our patients to take part in national clinical trials. Through our links with MSK research centres across the UK, we also help to develop and deliver research interventions to improve care for MSK conditions.

We contribute to undergraduate training through clinical placements for trainee MSK physiotherapists, and provide teaching on post-graduate courses for MSK physiotherapists.

We are committed to supporting the development of staff to Advanced Practice Level and our clinical team includes staff with PhD, MPhil and MSc academic qualifications and staff who are active researchers.

If you have osteoarthritis of the hip and knee, here is the link to be part of a research project of peer support for this condition: RaMIgo Participant Information Sheet and Contact Form (onlinesurveys.ac.uk)

MSK Service Standards

MSK standards mean that private and NHS physiotherapy services provide the best possible management and care. The standards lay out what you can expect.

Physiotherapy will be based on the best evidence available. It will be tailored to you and take into account your concerns and personal circumstances, and you will be involved in decisions about your condition.

The physiotherapist will explain things in a way you can understand. This includes information on how other health care workers can help and how the health care system works for you. This also means if you are referred to another department or specialist that it will be as smooth as possible.
