Flexible working at LCH

As a Trust, we’re always on the hunt for skilled staff who want to work flexibly. Our Clinical and Support Service (CLaSS)  is our temporary staff bank which allows you to work when it suits you. Our bank provides cover for fluctuating workloads, staffing shortfalls or when there is need for extra help - which is an integral part in providing the best care for our community.

"I enjoy the work life balance that CLaSS affords me to allow for flexibility in my working hours."

- Rebecca Chadwick, Staff Nurse

If you are looking for something more permanent, we do offer job shares and flexible working hours depending on the role, simply check the job description or contact the recruiting manager to find out more.

FAQs

What are the shifts like?

There are a range of shifts on offer in services such as administration, community nursing, community therapy, children's services, patient wards, police custody suites and other community services. We have both clinical and non-clinical roles available.

Shifts are available across Leeds, or even further afield in our police custody suites in West and South Yorkshire.

How does it work?

When you apply, please let us know the area of work you’re interested in. You’ll then be invited to interview. If successful, you’ll be added to our ‘bank’ and when relevant shifts become available we’ll contact you and give you the chance to sign up to shifts that suit you. Before this, you’ll have an induction to set up access and pay and explain how to do your statutory mandatory training.

What are the benefits to joining the staff bank?

Flexibility is the obvious one. You can choose when, where, and how many hours you work. To stay on the bank, you just need to do at least one shift every twelve months. Pay rates and banding are in line with Agenda for Change and reflective of your experience and you'll accrue annual leave for each shift worked. You can also access a number of our staff benefits - in particular the highly regarded NHS Pension Scheme. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience across a wide range of community settings.

Interested in joining our team?

Simply email us with the area of work you’re interested in and we’ll take it from there.
