Tony was appointed as a Non-Executive Director in May 2013. He is a member of the Quality Committee and the Business Committee. He has over 30 years’ service in the NHS. Tony graduated with a MB ChB in Medicine from the University of Leeds in 1981 and after training posts in the North East and Yorkshire he was appointed in 1990 as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Leeds and an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Leeds. He developed and reconfigured the mental health service for older people in South Leeds and in 1995 he set up the nationally recognised Younger People with Dementia Service. He was an Associate Medical Director at Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust from 1999 until his retirement in April 2013.
Tony has previously been a chair and member of charitable management committees and chaired the Quality Committee. He continues on a part-time basis as a fee paid Medical Member of the First Tier Tribunal (Health, Education and Social Care Chamber).
