Our Services A-Z

Children's Audiology Service

The service identifies children, aged 0-18 years who attend a Leeds school or GP, with a hearing impairment early in life so that the condition can be best managed.

Staff work with the child and family to consider all health and wellbeing issues, not just hearing loss, with referral to other health services as needed.

Hearing assessments are offered in the following sites across Leeds in purpose built, soundproofed facilities so that they are close to people’s homes:

Armley Moor Health Centre

95 Town Street LS12 3HD

Chapeltown Health Centre

Spencer Place LS7 4BB

St George's Centre

St George's Road, Middleton LS10 4UZ

Children are referred into the service from health professionals including GPs, paediatricians, school nurses, health visitors, speech and language therapists and screening programmes such as the newborn hearing screening programme and school screen.

All patients are seen within 6 weeks of referral. The Community Paediatric Audiology Service is available on Choose and Book through your GP.
