Thank You Event 2023: Colleague of the Year - Winner
Every year we celebrate our amazing staff and their achievements at our Thank You ceremony. Board members will surprise colleagues at their bases and present them with a hamper, balloons and a certificate for being shining examples of our magnificent staff behaviours.
Colleague of the Year – Winner
Lindsey Cawood, Operational Lead (Citywide Services Adult Business Unit)
Lindsey Cawood supported the Wharfedale Mobilisation Project at very short notice, immediately got stuck in and continued to be positive, flexible and responsive throughout. Her wealth of experience and knowledge, calm nature under significant pressure and demands on her time have been invaluable throughout the project. She always remained professional and available for questions, updates, and any other information whenever this was required from her.
Lindsey was nominated by Gillian Meakin, Service Development Lead (Clinical) who said, “Lindsey absolutely deserves to be named colleague of the year - she is one of a kind and a credit to LCH.”
Her impact on staff sets Lindsey apart. This includes immediately being visible on the unit to aid the staff and the leadership team, supporting anxious and uncertain staff and advocating for them to get the support they needed including equipment, IT, HR and accessing LCH support networks. She helped the new unit manager and matron learn policies, processes, and key information and provided incredible support to a new nurse through a visa renewal process.
Lindsey always goes above and beyond working outside her normal hours to support staff who worked shifts including nights and weekends, and picked up extra work to ensure staff were paid correctly. She gifted and delivered Christmas presents for the patients on the unit and regularly buys biscuits and refreshments for staff.
Executive Director of Operations, Sam Prince and Executive Director of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals, Steph Lawrence joined the team at Wharfedale to surprise Lindsey with the award.
Sam said, "I've worked closely with the team and have seen all the hard work that is continuously put in. Lindsey, you are the absolute epitome of all the behaviours we represent at LCH. I'm so proud of you"
Lindsey said, "I never expected it, thank you so much! I have loved working here and working with the entire team. I will always support the team even from afar."
