Colleague of the Year – Highly Commended
Ava Hadley, Advanced Administrator (Children and Young People's Eating Disorders service)
With her commitment and positive attitude Ava Hadley has been “nothing but an asset to the Children and Young People's Eating Disorders service”, especially over the past few months and through a period of significant change within the service.
With a post vacant, Ava has been the team’s only administrator and has consistently worked above and beyond her job role when needed. The team is small, but she is the glue that holds them together. Ava has managed all the admin demands on the Eating Disorders Team to an exceptional standard, always willing to do what she can and without complaint. She has been incredibly flexible and accommodating throughout.
The service has seen significant increases in referrals and requests for support with a reduced clinical workforce due to sickness and vacancies. This has meant there have had to be several changes made to manage this demand which has significantly impacted on the team.
Kate Burns, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Service Manager nominated Ava for the award and wrote, “Ava is thoughtful and understanding of the needs of the clinicians. She has been responsive to requests and does all she can to keep the clinical team supported. Ava is an absolute asset and is highly valued and appreciated by the entire team. She is a pleasure to work with and we are so pleased to have her as part of the team.”
Executive Director of Operations, Sam Prince surprised Ava at Reginald Centre to thank her for her outstanding support and attitude. She said, "I am delighted to award you with this. I have been told how you a calm, dedicated person and we are so pleased to have you as part of the team. On behalf of the leadership team and your team, thank you and well done."
The team added, "You definitely deserve it. We submitted the nomination to say thank you. You have held the fort for a while now, it's not an easy job and the volume of work is just increasing all the time yet you take it in your stride. We would be lost without you."
