Thank You Event 2022: Team of the Year - Winner
Every year we celebrate our amazing staff and their achievements at our pop-up Thank You ceremony. Board members will pop into video meetings to surprise colleagues and present them with a hamper for being shining examples of our magnificent staff behaviours.
Our Team of the Year award was won by our Front of House Administration Team.
Team of the Year – Winner
The Front of House Administration Team is the first point of contact for most services users, staff visiting sites and external contactors and partners. They are a team of 65 staff covering 29 sites Monday to Friday, greeting everyone with smiling faces and a willingness to help.
Catherine Scott, Head of Admin Services who nominated the team explained: “They are the link that keeps a whole host of things afloat and an important cog in our fantastic organisation. They are the staff who take the brunt of staff frustration when things like the heating is broken or the photocopier is having a jam. They are expected to be car park attendants, know the bus routes to everywhere, sort out spillages and know how the microwave works. They are committed, passionate and integral to making sure the service keeps running smoothly.”
Their fantastic contribution throughout the pandemic was also commented on, with Catherine adding: “The pandemic has shown them to be resilient and flexible, demonstrating a positive can-do attitude to the ongoing changes to our sites, the guidelines and the way we care for our patients to keep them safe. They have worked tirelessly to ensure the service meets the safety guidelines, lateral flow kits are available, and our PPE is stocked and ready. In addition to the ‘day job’, they have also supported admin colleagues within other teams by picking up tasks when capacity is short.”
They demonstrate our vision and values every day. They support each other, communicate brilliantly, get involved with team meetings and bring ideas to share and try. The line managers are integral to the team and spend time listening and supporting their staff, working alongside them. They are fantastic at keeping our appraisal and statutory and mandatory training levels high and consistent year after year. I am constantly amazed by these staff and I'm so grateful to them for doing that each and every day.”
Sam Prince, Executive Director of Operations and Laura Smith, Director of Workforce surprised the team by popping into a meeting on Microsoft Teams. Sam said: “Sometimes we talk about the organisation as a provider of healthcare and how you are absolutely pivotal to that. You are important to every person who comes through the door and you touch the lives of those people.”
Laura added: “It’s very clear how far above and beyond your roles you go every day. I’m so impressed with the patient-focus and quality of service you deliver. Our clinical services couldn’t do what they do without you doing what you do, and we’re tremendously lucky to have such a strong, well-led front of house team. A huge thank you from me, Sam and the whole organisation.”
On behalf of the Front of House team Rachel Gee, Administration Team Leader, said: “They work endlessly and they never complain, nothing is too much trouble and they put 110% in all the time. I’m so proud of the team.”
