Thank You Event 2020: Team of the Year- Winner
Every year we celebrate our amazing staff and their achievements at our pop-up ceremony. This year to keep everyone as safe as possible the event will be held virtually - Board members will pop into video meetings to surprise colleagues and present them with a trophy to celebrate as they are shining examples of our magnificent staff behaviours.
Today our final award goes to the PPE Project Team who are the winners of the Team of the Year category.
Team of the Year - Winner
The PPE Project Team was created at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. A team of colleagues, unknown to each other were brought together to develop, deliver and embed sustainable processes for the supply of PPE across the Trust. Although newly formed, the team quickly rose to the challenge, rapidly becoming experts within the world of PPE sharing one common goal: ‘PPE in the right place, at the right time for the safety of our staff and patients.’
Sofia Mahmood and Emma Ott, PPE Project Managers, nominated the team. They said:
“The team has worked entirely remotely and exclusively through digital technology to achieve commendable results, proving that innovative solutions and processes can be successfully achieved through enhanced digital technology. The assumption that workable relationships can only be formed through physical interaction has been proven incorrect as this team has rapidly built robust professional relationships digitally. The team are fantastically organised ensuring tasks are delivered on time by playing on individual key strengths and demonstrating effective teamwork. The team is strengthened by exceptional leadership who have supported us to streamline decision making and exercise good corporate governance ideology prioritising the best interests of our staff, patients and the general public.” “The team works with such passion and professionalism which will help the Trust create a future vision in collaboration with our partners. A continued commitment has been made to bring to life ambitions related to digitalisation, standardisation and collaboration and strengthen our relations to support us to deliver against these intentions; all of which has only been made possible thus far due to the fantastic and tremendously hard working team we are proud to be a part of.”
Bryan Machin, Executive Director of Finance and Thea Stein, Chief Executive popped into the PPE Project Team meeting via Microsoft Teams to present the team with the award and deliver the good news!
Speaking for the team Simon Cluderay said: "I've worked for the NHS for 40 years and I've never worked with a better team."
