Leeds Sexual Health Service is changing from 1 July 2024
As part of a new contract Leeds Sexual Health has been completely redesigned, with support from residents and stakeholders, to better serve the needs of the Leeds population, to simplify the patient journey and expand access.
Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust (LCH), in partnership with Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT), Leeds GP Confederation (LGPC) and Forum Central (the collective voice for the health and care third sector in Leeds), have been awarded the contract to deliver sexual health services in the city from 1 July 2024. The collective experience, knowledge and expertise of the partnership means it can continue to improve and provide innovative sexual and reproductive health services across the City.
What is changing?
From 1 July the Leeds Sexual Health service will no longer be based at Merrion Centre and the partnership will work closely with GPs, pharmacies, and voluntary and community organisations, to offer high-quality, welcoming services in multiple accessible locations. These will include Armley Moor Health Centre, Chapeltown Health Centre and Seacroft Clinic, the main hub will be Beeston Hill Health Centre. Experienced sexual health outreach teams will also deliver patient-focused services in trusted city centre spaces. As part of the Leeds Sexual Health Service, in collaboration with Leeds GP Confederation, we will be providing accessible appointments for the delivery of Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC), on evening and weekends at the following spoke sites: Harehills Community Health Centre and Windsor House Group Practice.
A dedicated phoneline staffed by experienced care navigators will direct people quickly and easily to the most appropriate support for them, this number is 0113 843 4495.
A brand new digital hub is also being developed and will be launched later in 2024 for those that prefer the convenience and discretion of using online tools, and we will continue share updates about this as work progresses.
