To make sure that we provide the best possible care to every community in Leeds we continually review what's working well, what isn't and where we can make improvements. As a result we sometimes propose changes to our services. This can include anything from changing the time of a clinic and extending surgery times, to asking people to attend appointments at a different health centre. Gaining feedback on our plans from patients, carers, partners, the public and staff is essential if we are to get things right and make the right decisions.
We want you to be involved in how we design, develop and deliver local healthcare services and will always offer patients, public and staff the opportunity to shape and contribute to the future of our services. This could be by completing surveys and telephone interviews or attending focus groups and public meetings. Your involvement will help to shape and influence the decisions that we make.
Sometimes the decisions we need to make are difficult ones. If we propose any major changes we will always follow a formal process called a consultation and involve people throughout by asking for their views and opinions about our plans.
You may have already been invited to provide feedback about our proposal to move the Child Development Centre to the Reginald Centre.
We received comments from 78 people including patients, carers, referrers (such as a GP) and members of the public. The 12 week engagement period ended 14 September 2017. Thank you to those who took the time to listen to our proposal and give feedback.
Overall, engagement has shown that the move has been positively received. We have considered all your feedback in detail and sought to address your concerns. We held two information sessions for people to hear about why we think this is the right thing to do, we talked about our plans and answered people's questions.
This leaflet sets out our plans to go ahead with the move to the Reginald Centre and includes some of the comments people raised, both positive and negative, and how we plan to address them.
The relocation of services took place in August 2018.
You don’t need to do anything now - all the information you will need will be included in future appointment letters. Our contact numbers
will remain the same, 0113 206 4591, until the move and we will be in touch before then with our new contact details.
You may have already been involved in providing feedback to us about the service you currently receive. This leaflet builds on this. It also sets out how we would like to shape changes that we believe will lead to improved patient care for the people of Leeds now and in the future. The leaflet also outlines what patients said in our patient engagement to help us improve our service and our response.
As a result we are now piloting an assessment centre model for Community Dental Services across two sites:
As part of developing the assessment centres we are also reducing the service available at Seacroft clinic. We will publish the outcomes of the pilot on this webpage.
