Charity Development Group

LCH charity logo

In 2014 Leeds Community Healthcare Charity re-launched with its new image, thanks to the help of the trust’s Charity Development Group.

We’re looking for more members to join our Charity Development Group which is open to patients, carers, public members and staff. The Charity Development Group assesses applications we receive for funding from the charity, the money we spend and the direction we take. This is a great way for you to be involved in key decisions or use your creativity to support fundraising so we can increase the level of funding the charity is able to provide to improve community health services. As well as online/postal feedback, there will also be the opportunity to attend 2 face-to-face workshops a year, to meet and talk to other members of the group.

Want to review applications with us? It’s easier than ever before – we can send out applications to you via email or post for you to review and respond with your feedback. The group’s recommendations supports where the money will be spent, so you’ll be able to see a really practical impact of your feedback.

How does it work?

  • Funding applications are sent to the virtual panel once a month – usually the last week of each month
  • You review the applications and send feedback to the charity
  • We review feedback and take a consensus – more information is taken from the applicant if required.
  • Funds are then allocated appropriately to services/projects

More Than a Welcome

Our “More Than a Welcome” campaign responds to patient, carer, public and staff feedback in order to find more ways to make everyone feel more welcome at our services and in our buildings.

More than a welcome’ provides charitable funding to:

  • Improve access to physical environments (signage, information provided)
  • Make our buildings and services more welcoming (reception / waiting room facilities)
  • Introduce activities that can promote wellbeing and reduce isolation
  • Link to sustainability and environmental improvement projectsIf you have any feedback about any of our services we will use it to work with our teams to see how we can make the improvements you would like to see.

If you are interested in any of the opportunities or would like further information please contact lchcharity@nhs.net or call Sibbat Noor on 0113 2208596.
