Janet has worked in the wound prevention management service for nine years and is currently based in Wetherby Health Centre.
Janet explains: “I cover the Wetherby and Meanwood neighbourhood teams, providing support and advice to staff when dealing with pressure ulcers and complex wounds. I give advice about wound management and the use of equipment, ensuring holistic assessments are carried out and teaching staff about leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and wound care.”
She adds: “I carry out joint visits with members of our neighbourhood teams, to patients in their homes and to nursing homes as well. The most satisfying aspect of the role is how we are working well as integrated team, by having a more joined up approach, we are providing better patient care.”
Janet is currently working to complete a masters in tissue viability from Bradford University.
Outside of work Janet is a keen gardener and enjoys walking her dog. She has a sixteen year old daughter and is looking forward to celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to Naples later this year.
