Have your say on improving Community Neurological Services
The service has opted to make a change to enhance the accessibility to the service and ensure that patients are given the right input at the right time in the right place to meet their needs. The current model does not always support this. Equally, we want to ensure equity of access and reduce the waiting times that patients often face when trying to access the service. Overall, the change would allow the service to meet the needs of patients as opposed to the patient’s needs fitting the service model, ultimately enhancing a more positive patient experience as the service will have the ability to support the patient journey through the system.
The aim of the engagement is to understand people’s experiences of using the Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service in Leeds and the views of the public and wider stakeholders, in order to commission a service that meets the needs of local people.
Who will we speak to?
We would like to hear from current and past service users, carers, members of the public who haven’t heard of or used the service before.
What and how will we ask?
We are asking people to share their thoughts and experiences of using the community neuro rehabilitation service in Leeds and ideas of what a new service could look like. The questions we will be asking patients, public and carers have all been designed specifically within areas they can influence.

- Attend our focus groups. We are hosting several focus groups to support this work. Book onto the focus groups and find out more about when they are.
What will we do?
All the feedback we receive will be considered. We will analyse and theme the responses and write an engagement report that will outline the findings and provide recommendations to the commissioning team.
The report will be published on the CCG website and also will be sent to anyone who left shared their contact details in the survey.

Community Dental Service
We asked patients, carers, staff and other key stakeholders across Leeds for their views on our plans to offer an improved specialist Community Dental Service in Leeds. The referral-only service provides treatment for people whose own dentist can’t meet their particular needs. You can see the information leaflet here.
We wanted to know if patients would support a move from five part-time clinics, to three which would be open all day Monday to Friday and able to offer more specialised services and equipment. You can see a summary of the feedback we received here and the more detailed report sent to our Board for approval.
