The Watch It service is a community based weight management programme for children from 5 to 18 years of age and looks at getting active, eating healthily and staying happy. We are supported by children’s psychologists and nutritionists. For children up to 11 years we work with parents only because research tells us that this is the most helpful way to support families.
Anyone is free to join the programme as long as they live in Leeds or have a Leeds GP, can attend the sessions regularly and are ready to make changes. They must also have a BMI above the 91st percentile, but we can work this out for you.
We offer three programmes for familes, parents and young people with learning disabilities and their carers. There are full details available of our programmes including times and venues.
The service is managed by the Watch It Team Leader, Head of Service: Healthy Children's Pathway.
Watch It recruits all year round and accepts referrals from health, education and social care staff as well as directly from families.
Referrals for either programme can be made by phone, contact the admin team on 0113 8431047 or by secure email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Referral forms can also be downloaded here.
You can contact the Watch It admin team on 0113 8431047. Alternatively you ask us a question by email (remember to leave your contact details so we can respond): email@example.com
