What is persistent pain?

Persistent pain is a common problem which affects millions of people in the UK.

It is pain that is felt even when the body’s normal healing has ended. The body’s pain system becomes more sensitive and pain can continue. This pain does not respond to surgery, injections and many drugs are not helpful. It can be difficult to know where to turn for help.

At SpineFit+ we understand that persistent pain greatly affects all aspects of your life. It can affect your ability to work and sleep, your activity levels, relationships with friends or family, your mood, confidence and motivation.

Evidence and experience tells us that persistent pain is managed most effective when patients play an active role in it. An individually tailored programme can help a patient to gain more confidence to cope and live a better life.
