Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service

We want to ensure client and staff safety at all times. Therefore in line with current guidance on COVID-19, we have postponed all groups until further notice. We will contact you if you have already signed up for a group. We appreciate your patience.

Have you noticed changes in your sleep? How you feel? or how close you feel to others? Have you felt like avoiding things or been putting things off more?

Later life can be a big time of change, which can lead to us experiencing feeling low or down, or perhaps more worried or stressed. You may have noticed little changes, or started not feeling like ourselves. Sometimes we can experience big life stressors that have a great impact on our wellbeing. Our Live Well in Later Life course aims to help manage these difficulties by teaching you techniques that you can use everyday to tackle low mood and worries.

The course covers discussions around common myths about our wellbeing and later life, how to improve sleep, relaxation techniques, reconnecting with people around us or with what we feel is important and how we can tackle worries and negative thoughts.

You may benefit from the course if you have:

  • Recently retired or semi retired, or are experiencing work related problems
  • Increased caring responsibilities for family or friends
  • A physical health condition that maybe impacting on your wellbeing
  • Experienced a loss or bereavement
  • Become more isolated
  • Stopped doing things you used to enjoy
  • Worry a lot or are having trouble sleeping

There is no lower age limit to the course, although it is aimed at adults in later life which is usually described as aged 50+ years. However, if you feel you would benefit from an older adults approach then please feel free to book a place.

If you have already completed an online screening, please wait for this to be processed or discuss with your therapist before booking onto another treatment.
