Community Intermediate Care Unit (CICU)


CICU is a 27 bedded Community Rehabilitation Unit providing care for older people who have become unwell and are unable to remain in their own home and require input from medical staff, nursing and therapy staff.

Our Multidisciplinary team consists of Consultant Geriatricians, medical staff, Nursing, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Clinical Support Workers .The team is supported by an administration team. We also have access to other health care professionals such as Joint Care Managers, Dieticians and other specialist services.  

Who we care for at CICU

We work together to stabilise health, optimise independence and enable our patients to reach their full potential.

We work with people aged 60 years or over, with older person’s needs and provide person-centred care.


Anyone with a Leeds GP can be referred to CICU. Referrals are normally made by GPs, Community Geriatricians, Intermediate Care Teams, District Nurses or hospitals.
