Our Services A-Z

A Career in Speech and Language Therapy

The Children’s Speech and Language Therapy service offer half day seminars, twice a year to those who have a general interest in or who wish to study to become a Speech and Language Therapist.

The presentation contains information about various aspects of Speech and Language Therapy relating to children and adults.

The learning outcomes are:

  • Have a better understanding of communication and types of communication difficulties in adults and children
  • Have a better awareness of the role of SLTs
  • Know more about studying SLT at University

We are not able to offer observational visits to a Clinic / Therapy Department as our teaching time is committed to SLT undergraduate students. Course admissions tutors will look at your understanding of the profession and the needs of people with communications disorders, and also your ability to communicate with them, rather than whether you have observed therapists at work.

Please contact Nicola Waddington, Specialist Speech and Language Therapist if you would like further information about the date of the next seminar.
