Thanks a Bunch Sharon!
This week’s Thanks a Bunch went to Sharon Reed, Administrator for the Community Falls Service. She was nominated by Laura Savage, Physiotherapist, for her commitment, support and compassion towards patients and colleagues.
Laura expressed how Sharon’s knowledge, understanding and kindness has helped the service and the efficient care they provide. Sharon not only goes above and beyond to help patients on the phone, even when they are often not open to the service, but she also looks after the rest of the team members. She always tries to help the team with tasks which saves time, so that they can focus on being with patients and helping them. There are times when patients are unaware of the service and hesitant to accept help when they have been referred, and Sharon's knowledge and experience working in the team means she is able to explain in depth what the service can offer, often convincing the patients of the benefits of the service.
Laura said, “Sharon is the heart of the Community Falls Services. Her passion and support has resulted in many patients benefiting from our services who may have declined otherwise. She will be extremely missed when she retires later this year.”
Bryan Machin, Executive Director of Finance and Resources surprised Sharon and commended her, “This encapsulates what a fantastic staff member you are and have been. It's a pleasure to present this to you so well done and thank you from the Trust.”
Sharon is acknowledged for demonstrating the Trust behaviours of: Caring for our patients, Making the best decisions, Caring for one another, Working together, and Finding solutions
