Steph Lawrence presents the Thanks a Bunch award to Jackie and Gillian

Jackie is a Physiotherapy Assistant who has worked in various teams across Leeds Trusts for many years, both in acute and community settings.  She is well liked and is a conscientious, kind and caring member of staff who is always willing to support her colleagues and is lovely with the patients. Lizzie Prescott, Occupational Therapist added about Jackie, “I would never have any concerns about delegating work to her, knowing it would be dealt with a professional manner.”

Gillian is an experienced Staff Nurse and valued team member. She has invested and shared her knowledge and experience through mentoring and inducting new starters, as well as supervising students, with many returning to the team as a newly qualified staff nurse. Gillian always goes over and beyond in caring for the patients and working together as a team.

Caroline is a senior nurse who has worked in the Meanwood team for many years, prior to integration, many will remember Caroline working for the Intermediate care team. Caroline keeps the patients at the heart of her decision making and equally, she prioritises her colleague’s health and well-being. This never goes unnoticed and is appreciated by all.

Victoria Storton, Service Manager, praised them, “They are an inspiration to many for their contribution, investment, and commitment to caring for the patients of Leeds. We are proud to work with them and call them our colleagues.”

Steph Lawrence, Executive Director of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals, surprised Gillian and Jackie and celebrated them saying, “Thank you for everything that you do every day, these are so well deserved. You have been nominated as you are special colleagues that can be trusted and relied upon and people that deliver amazing person-centred care.”

Unfortunately Caroline couldn’t be at the presentation however she has been sent her flowers and will be given her certificate by the team at a later date.

Jackie, Gillian and Caroline are acknowledged for demonstrating the Trust behaviours of: Caring for our patients, Making the best decisions, Caring for one another, and Working together.
