Thanks a Bunch Helen!
This week’s Thanks a Bunch went to Operational Manager for the Long Covid Community Rehabilitation Service, Helen Rowney. She was nominated by Associate Community Matron, Rebecca Coulson for her positivity, kindness and diligence.
Rebecca explained that Helen has “a mammoth task” of juggling staffing changes and patient visits, and she works extremely hard to ensure the situation for both are very fluid. Helen manages to ensure the staff feel supported and listened to and makes positive changes as and when needed, whilst also ensuring that the service provision is delivered.
Rebecca added, “She always works with a smile on her face even when it’s clear the best of us would crumble under the pressure. Thank you for supporting and listening to the team always with a smile!”
Ruth Burnett, Executive Medical Director, surprised Helen at Wortley Beck Health Centre and praised Helen saying, “We know how much pressure everybody is working under, and the fact that you are managing is critically important, but to do so in a way that your staff feel supported and listened to is also fabulous, so thank you.”
Helen is acknowledged for demonstrating the Trust behaviours of: Making the best decisions, Leading my example, Caring for one another, Adapting to change and delivering improvements, Working together, and Finding solutions
