Thanks a Bunch Clare!
This week’s Thanks a bunch went to Cardiac Services Lead Nurse, Clare Firth. She was nominated by Cardiac Services Lead Nurse, Caroline Grice Ellis on behalf of the Long Term Conditions (LTC) Cardiac Team for her amazing work and effort on a complex project.
The team would like to thank Clare for her “outstanding work” in developing the pathway and enabling the team to use the electronic prescribing function for the Independent and Supplementary Prescribers in their team. Caroline explained that this was a huge piece of work to develop the templates for the common medications used and this work will be able to be used continuously to the benefit of other LCH teams. The most important beneficiary of this work is the patients who will receive vital changes to their medicine regimes in a timely fashion. This means we can continue to prevent admissions from worsening heart failure symptoms by quickly altering medications when needed.
Clare has worked really hard on this project to ensure that the Cardiac team got the chance to develop electronic prescribing templates for their service with the clinical systems and SystmOne teams and she ensured it stayed on track and was completed on time.
Caroline said, “We have already started to use it and we love it! With Winter coming up we are really looking forward to not shivering outside community pharmacies to hand our prescriptions over! Thanks Clare, a brilliant piece of work and very much appreciated by us all.”
Executive Director of Operations, Sam Prince surprised Clare to praise her saying, “I’m privileged to say thank you on behalf of the organisation for this vital work you have completed. It’s fantastic for staff and patients as well, so thank you.”
Clare is acknowledged for demonstrating the Trust behaviours of: Caring for our patients, Making the best decisions, Leading by example, Caring for one another, Adapting to change and delivering improvements, Working together, and Finding solutions
