Project of the Year Award - Highly Commended
Team LCH Hubs: Caroline Robertson, Programme Manager, Rashpal Padam, Project Support Officer, Anita Simey, Programme Manager
The Team LCH Hubs project team facilitated the mammoth task of the move of clinical services out of Stockdale House to the White Rose Staff Hub; establishing agile working principles for the organisation; and the rolling out of the Matrix booking system to the whole organisation.
The project had to manage many conflicting demands and unexpected problems along the way. This included an extremely last-minute rearrangement of plans for one service. This issue was managed constructively, with the commitment to finding a solution by the project team being extremely flexible and understanding. The team listened to the needs of the service and then negotiated with the rest of the organisation on their behalf.
The Matrix system was complex to mobilise as different stakeholders had lots of different needs and priorities for the system - this was addressed by creating a clear specification of requirements and prioritising the functionality until the right system was identified.
All of this was managed in a consultative, collaborative and sensitive way. The result was that clinical services were supported to move out of Stockdale House with minimal disruption. The Matrix system has changed the way in which staff are able to book desks and rooms, the new method proving much more effective and streamlined, leading to better utilisation of spaces.
Sam Prince, Executive Director of Operations celebrated the project team at White Rose Office Park saying, “I was there and saw all the work that went into organising and managing this task. You're so constructive, really good with finding solutions to difficult problems, really good with people and just trying to make things work for everyone. The award is very much well deserved.”
