Every year we celebrate our amazing staff and their achievements at our Thank You ceremony. Board members will surprise colleagues at their bases and present them with a hamper, balloons and a certificate for being shining examples of our magnificent staff behaviours.

Andrea Black, District Nurse, Wetherby Neighbourhood Service
Andrea has been nominated for her professionalism, dedication to excellent patient care, and for leading by example.
Andrea started her journey at LCH at Yeadon Neighbourhood Team. She is an experienced and highly skilled District Nurse with several years’ experience working in Leeds.
Andrea is an advocate for high quality patient centred care. She continually shows excellent competence in her role, treating patients with compassion, honesty and fairness, especially in what are often tense and complex situations.
Patricia Kuster, Care Quality Manager nominated Andrea and explained further, “A recent incident I worked on that Andrea supported with relating to a patient with complex physical and mental health needs was extremely difficult. The circumstances have at times been testing for staff and emotionally very challenging. The outcome of the review highlighted Andrea's unwavering commitment to the patient's care and demonstrated her fantastic skills as a Nurse. Her ability to lead the team so efficiently is an example of excellence.”
As well as her tremendous patient care, Andrea is a very supportive member of the team, approachable and trustworthy. “Andrea makes sure staff wellbeing is prioritised and always takes a proactive approach in seeking support.”
Ruth Burnett, Executive Medical Director surprised Andrea at her base at Wetherby Health Centre to present the award and said, “Thank you. It’s absolutely true, working locally I know first-hand what a difference you (and the team) make to my team and all the patients and to the work that we do. It’s a real privilege to present this.”
