Stress control classes booking


Stress control is a psycho-educational class, based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) techniques. Feelings of being ‘stressed’ usually involve a number of problems such as, depression, anxiety, panic and sleep problems. The course teaches you how to recognise and understand the reasons for feeling stressed and how to develop techniques and skills to overcome these feelings and feel more able to deal with stressful times.

Classes are delivered by our therapists and supported by slideshow presentations, workbooks and relaxation CD’s. There is no discussion of personal problems, so this helps people who feel uncomfortable talking in front of others to attend without concern.

Who does it help?

Stress Control has been proven to help people experiencing:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Sleep problems

Each class will be for 1.5-2 hours and will have a comfort break in the middle of the session, members will be expected to attend all sessions.  

The sessions will be delivered in a class environment, providing information about stress and how to deal with it, there is no interaction expected. Some questions can be asked during the sessions, any concerns or longer questions should be asked at the end of the session in order to minimise disruption for other class members.

We ask that members ensure that they feel comfortable with the method of learning, are motivated, and committed to practising the techniques outside of the session and accompanying reading which will be given weekly.

The class will need attendees to sit within a group of people (this can be up to 60 people).

We ask that all class members respect each other and also the facilitators.

Participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire each week, this helps us to ensure the class is working for you.
