Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust is hosting a creative workshop for children and young people to further develop plans for a new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in-patient unit.
The unit will provide specialist support to young people across Yorkshire experiencing mental health problems and is proposed to be based St Mary’s Hospital site in Armley.
Young people with some experience of CAMHS are invited to the workshop on Tuesday 30 October to help shape the interior design of the proposed unit.
The workshop will focus on what colours, furniture styles, and types of flooring young people would want. There will also be opportunities to look at and discuss the layout of bedrooms, day spaces and dining areas.
Toni Littlewood, CAMHS Service Manager, at Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “It’s really important that we involve young people at an early stage to make sure they can shape and influence plans and designs. We will continue to involve young people and their families throughout the project to develop a modern, fit for purpose facility which we can all be proud of.”
The workshop will take place on Tuesday 30 October from 1pm-3pm at Little Woodhouse Hall, 18 Clarendon Road, Leeds, LS2 9NT (Parking is limited). Refreshments will be provided.
To book a place on the workshop or for further information contact Chris Lake, Participation Lead for the Children's Business Unit via email email@example.com or telephone or text 07985 267740.
