A digital innovation from our Nutrition and Dietetics Service has had a double win at the 2018 Building Better Healthcare Awards in London.
Supported by the LCH Service Improvement Team and in collaboration with healthcare IT specialists AireLogic Ltd, they created an electronic pre-assessment tool for patients seeking dietary treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
The Functional Gut Disorder (FGD) form allows patients to enter their information via the online tool which is then reviewed by a dietitian prior to their first appointment – saving time and empowering patients.
The e-form was named winner of both the Best Healthcare Software – Patient Centred and Patients Choice awards at a ceremony held at The Brewery on Wednesday. It was also Highly Commended in the Clinicians’ Choice category.
The Building Better Healthcare awards celebrate innovation and improvement in the healthcare industry by recognising the people leading the way across the sector.
The double win for Dietetics comes after the FGD form was also Highly Commended in the Non-Clinical Innovation category at the Excellence in Supply Awards in Manchester last month.
Mark Simpson, Project Support Officer – involved in the development of the form from inception to delivery - said: “It was a wonderful day, fantastic venue and event.
“We were pleasantly surprised; It is a really big awards ceremony so it’s fair to say we were absolutely delighted."
