Leeds Children's Nursing and Butterfly Team (LCNT and Butterfly) - part of the Community Children's Nursing Service

The team provides a service for babies and children with a whole range of nursing needs who are registered with a Leeds GP. For example children and babies who are ventilated, with tracheostomies (to aid breathing), who are enterally fed (tube fed directly into the stomach), terminally ill or oxygen-dependent.

The team also provides follow up for children and babies who have had complex or day surgery. The team works with other professionals to ensure the needs of the children and families are met.  The team is predominantly a nursing service and provides advice and support over seven days, with a reduced service at the weekend.

The team also has a play worker and other team members who work with children and who have life-limiting life-threatening conditions and their families.
