Children’s Growth and Nutrition Service

The Growth and Nutrition Service (GNS) provides clinics and home visiting for assessment, investigation and management of babies and children who have problems with growth or complex feeding or eating difficulties.

The Growth and Nutrition Service is also active in both research and training.

Growth and Nutrition Service - Relocation

From the 6th August 2012 we will no longer be offering growth and nutrition appointments at:

  •  Ashley Wing, St James Hospital, or
  • Leeds General Infirmary following changes to the service.

From the 6th August 2012 your appointment will be moving to the Child Development Centre, St James Hospital

Why are we moving the clinic?

The move is a temporary one. We are moving because the team is small and the best way we make sure you get the best care is by having them all in one place.

We recognise that in the short term moving the clinic to one location may for some people mean they have a longer distance to travel or more buses to take.  We hope you will understand our reason for doing this.

What about my next appointment?

If your next appointment is after the 6th August it will be in the St James Child Development Centre.  This will be on your appointment letter.  When you arrive for your appointment please go to the Child Development Centre reception desk.

The team of staff that you have previously been seeing will stay the same. This is because the team are moving too.

If you need information about bus routes please contact Metro, telephone: 0113 245 7676 or www.wymetro.com.  St James Child Development Centre is on bus routes and has bus stops nearby.

Who can I talk to if I have a query about the changes?

To help us explore how we can improve in the long-term services for children who access the growth and nutrition service we would like to invite you to an open forum to discuss this and the move of the growth and nutrition service.  The open event will be held at St James Child Development Centre on the 4th September 2012 from 1.30pm – 3.00pm.  Please let us know if you would be able to join us.

If you wish to talk to someone about this change please contact Luke Minshall our Business Support Manager on 0113 3055070 or alternatively 07958004374.
