School Immunisation Team

Our School Immunisation team offers immunisations to all pupils who attend high schools and Primary Schools and educational establishments throughout Leeds according to the national schedule. 

The primary aim of the team is to promote and deliver immunisations to increase vaccine uptake through various health promotion activities and planned sessions within schools.

The main vaccines delivered are:

  • Human Papilloma Virus vaccine for girls in Year Eight 
  • Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio and Meningitis for boys and girls in Year Nine and Year 11
  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella given opportunistically for boys and girls in Year nine
  • Intra Nasal Flu for children in Year One and Year Two


Tuberculosis Immunisations

The team also runs the Leeds Community BCG Clinic, providing immunisations against Tuberculosis for those at an increased risk.

You will be referred into this service if your GP, health visitor or practice nurse feels you meet the criteria.

Please note: there is a National shortage of BCG vaccine across the UK, therefore, the BCG clinics are currently suspended until further notice.
