Musculoskeletal and Rehabilitation Service

610

Leeds Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Rehabilitation Service strives to offer all patients referred to our service the highest quality evidence based treatments available. We are also dedicated to improving the information both patients and other health professionals have about their or their patient’s conditions and the services we offer.

What does musculoskeletal rehabilitation mean?

The musculoskeletal (MSK) system is the combination of the muscular and skeletal systems that provides humans with the ability to move. This system provides form, support, stability, and movement to the body.

Any imbalance or injury in the body's muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments or nerves can disrupt the musculoskeletal system and prevent it from functioning correctly.

Musculoskeletal rehabilitation aims to restore any imbalance in the musculoskeletal system, restoring previous levels of function and allowing the patient to return to previous levels of activity.
